Robert (Bob) C. O’Hara. 80, of Deltona, FL passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to Paul and Vera O’Hara on November 19, 1940 in Cortland, NY. After high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Army. He is proud to have served his country during the Vietnam War. After leaving the United States Army, Bob went to night school where he earned his certification as an electrician and worked for the IBEW Local #86 until he retired and moved to Florida.
Bob is predeceased by his loving wife Jackie and parents Paul and Vera. He is survived by his sons Scott (Shari) O’Hara, Patrick (Angella) O’Hara, grandchildren Andrew (Jenna) Miller, Joseph Miller, Caitlin O’Hara, Erin O’Hara, brother James (Linda) O’Hara, sister Marie (John) Bower, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends Frank (Marty) Johnston.
Bob was a highly active member in several branches of Masonry including Blue Lodge, Consistory, and Shrine. He enjoyed playing the bagpipes and volunteering. Upon retiring to Florida, Bob continued with the Shrine including the Bahia Shrine Club and their Yellow Jacket Drill Team. He continued his volunteering for a variety of organizations. Most notable include Spring Hill Fire Police, Greyhound Adoptions of Florida, and the Leesburg Partnership.
A service with military honors will be held on April 29, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida.
