White, Dorothy “Dottie”, 85 years, passed away on November 24, 2020 at Waterman Hospital.
Dorothy was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama to the late Moscow and Lillender (Behel) Boykin in 1935. She worked in the citrus industry for more than 20 years. Later she owned and operated “Dottie’s Plants” here in Leesburg for many years. She loved her grandchildren and she enjoyed fishing, volunteering, cooking and feeding family and friends. Dorothy also loved going to church and Gospel Sings. She is survived by her loving family; daughter, Barbara, of Florida, Linda, and Carolyn; sister, Faye, of Mississippi; brothers, Earl, Danny, and Freeman, all from Texas; grandsons, Kevin, of Florida, Daniel, of Florida, and Andrew (Taylor), of Tennessee; 6 great granddaughters; 3 great grandsons; Daughter in Law, Darlene White, of Tennessee. She is also survived by a large extended family. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents; son, Charles; brothers Junior and Vernon; sisters, Virginia, Dollie, and Lily; 2 great grandsons.
The family will receive friends at Grace Bible Baptist Church on Thursday, December 3rd, from noon until 1pm with a funeral service at 1pm. Following the funeral, Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Lone Oak Cemetery in Leesburg.
