Obituary for Dorothy Jean Ruck

Dorothy Jean Ruck
Dorothy Jean Ruck was born on June 17, 1935 in Albany, Wisconsin to Fred and Ida Flueckiger who emigrated from Bern, Switzerland. Dorothy went to be with the Lord November 24, 2020 in Leesburg, Florida surrounded by family. She was the youngest of nine children, all of whom preceded her in death. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beloit, Wisconsin in April, 1949. She graduated from Blackhawk Technical College as a medical assistant. She married William Ruck on November 11, 1955 in Beloit, WI. Together they had three children. William (Kathy) Ruck, Dennis (Lois) Ruck, and Corinne (Scott) Wade. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and daughter Corinne. She had eight grandchildren: William, Amanda, Chelsea, Robert, Alexander, Caitlin, Stephanie, and Alexis; as well as 12 great grandchildren: Elnora, Judy, Edgar, Neftaly, Daniel, Liora, Everett, Charlotte, Rosalie, Ethan, Mathias, and Jaxon. She moved to Leesburg, Florida with her husband in 1990. There, they attended Bethany Lutheran Church. She was active in bible study, Sunday school class, and Bell choir. She was a great animal lover and will be missed by her rescues: Isobel, Leo, and Lily. Dorothy held a special place in her heart for her church family at Bethany Lutheran, her neighbors at Lake Griffin Harbor, and her dear friend Christina Miller. Throughout her life, Dorothy’s faith in the Lord encouraged and sustained her through many trials. She passed on this legacy of faith to her children and grandchildren.
