Obituary for Mary Hayes

Mary Lee Hayes (72) of Webster, FL passed away at Cornerstone Hospice House, The Villages, FL on November 9, 2020. She was born April 15, 1948 in Dillon County, SC.

Mary is survived by her daughters: Patricia O’Brien (William) of Webster, FL and Priscilla Crenshaw of Webster, FL and her son Randy Bedgood (Debbie). She was also blessed with grandchildren: Kenneth Dale Brown (Sarah Whitehead), Joshua Daniel Brown, Josey Owens, Carmen Brown, and Tiffany Gober and great grandchildren, Arion, Tye and Izabella. She is also survived by her siblings, Homer Oxendine Jr, H.B. Oxendine and Anita Koerner along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Warren Dale Hayes, her parents Homer and Annie Jacobs Oxendine and her brothers, J.W. Oxendine and Howard “Chief Red Eagle” Oxendine.

Mary was a happy homemaker, by trade. She was a long time member of Midway Baptist Church and Tuscanooga Baptist Church and more recently Gant Lake Baptist Church in Webster, FL. She loved her churches and showed that by attending, reading her Bible regularly and teaching Sunday School for many years. Mary also loved watching movies. She greatly loved her family and her church family and has left many memories.

There will be a funeral service at Gant Lake Baptist Church at 1444 CR 478A in Webster, FL on Saturday, November 14. There will be a visitation gathering at 10:00 AM with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Mary will be buried afterwards at Evergreen Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Brother David Slone will officiate.
