On Saturday, July 25, 2020, Franklin Dixon of Bushnell, Florida, a loving husband and father of three, passed away at the age of 86.
Franklin was born on November 17, 1933, in Bushnell, Florida to R.B. (Rupert) Dixon and Ruth (Owens) Dixon. He was a farmer and rancher retiring only a few years ago. On May 8, 1954, he married Faye Adams. They raised two daughters and a son.
Franklin loved the Lord and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Bushnell where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, camping and cooking outdoors. Franklin also enjoyed golfing and was a member of a group called “The Bandits”. He enjoyed watching college football and westerns and greatly enjoyed his wife’s cooking.
Franklin was preceded in death by his father, R.B. (Rupert), his mother, Ruth, and his son, Jimmy. He is survived by his wife, Faye, daughters, Sandee (Mike) Howell and Gina Simpson, sisters, Sue Ann Brewer and Eloise Johnson, grandchildren, Tim (Brittani) Altman, Jessi Simpson, James (Ariel) Dixon and Amber Dixon, nine great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Bushnell or Cornerstone Hospice.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Tema Cemetery with Pastor Doug Watkins officiating.
