Obituary for Jerome Thomas Pray

Jerome (Jerry) Thomas Pray passed away on June 18, 2020, in The Villages, Florida. Jerry was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 12, 1944 to Willard and Eleanore Pray. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosetta (Roe) Pray, of 52 years; his sons, Jerry (Jennifer) of Bartlett, Illinois and Jeffrey (Dina) of Geneva, Illinois; grandchildren, Vincent, Taylor, Claudia, Isabella and Jordan. Jerry is also survived by his two brothers, Willard (Sharon) Pray and Roger (Carolyn) Pray; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry served in the Army 8th Infantry Division Airborne as a paratrooper during the Vietnam War. He provided for his family, as a truck driver for over 35 years. In 2004, Jerry and Roe retired to The Villages, and made many lifelong friends. He was an avid golfer and known by many as the “Peanut Guy” and loved to win dingys. Jerry belonged to the American Legion #347 and was a member of the woodworking shop.

Services will be held Friday, June 26, 2020, Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am, Service is at 11:00 am at Beyers Funeral Home, 134 North Highway 27/441, Lady Lake, FL 32159.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jerry’s name to Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care, 601 Mariposa Way, The Villages, Fl 32162.
