Charles Bruce Canfield, 83, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, October 31, 2019. “Chuck” was born February 10, 1936 in Rockford, IL to Bruce and Bernice (Giles) Canfield. He married Elizabeth “Bett” Marie Sommer on December 27, 1957. They were together as loving companions for 61 years. Charles received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Wabash College, Crawfordsville, IN in 1956. He was a successful and trusted stockbroker for 45 years.

Chuck was an active member in his local Methodist churches. He was a Rotarian and a Shriner. Chuck was a long-time volunteer at St. Matthew’s House homeless shelter in Naples, FL. He coached his boys in little league baseball and was an avid rose gardener.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Bett, his children, Barbara, Bruce, John and Jeffrey, and his sister Mary. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael (1969-1981). He is blessed to be survived also by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Beyer’s Funeral Home, 134 N. Hwy 27/144, Lady Lake, FL. Visitation at 1pm, service at 2 pm. Charles Bruce Canfield will be interred near his parents and next to his son at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden North, Pompano Beach, FL.
