After High School he became a carpenter apprentice and attended trade school, becoming a journeyman carpenter. Wally served in the Army reserve from 1957 to 1964. In 1960, Wally and his best friend established a successful Carpentry Contractor business, Asbach & Vanselow, Inc. which grew and prospered building homes in the Chicago area for 35 years. He retired from that business in 1995 and went on to become a Home Inspector here in The Villages, FL. He loved his work, but he loved pickle ball and golf, too. A busy guy.
Wally is survived by four children and their spouses, Dave and Jacquie; Susan and Gary; John and Cindy and Jeff and Melanie. He has nine beloved grandchildren and a puppy “Molly”.
There will be a “Celebration of Wally’s Life” on October 26, 2019 at Colony Cottage in The Villages, FL. Luncheon will be served at 11:30 AM. Please RSVP to Mary at email@example.com.
