Carol Ann Bernardo, loving wife, mother, nana and friend to many, passed away too soon on August 5, 2019 at the age of 70, in her home, The Villages, Florida.

Carol was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on December 23, 1948 to Elizabeth (Bona) and Carl Disque. She attended G.A.R Memorial High School, graduating in 1966. She married her devoted husband, Nazzara Joseph Bernardo in November 28, 1970. They moved throughout their married life, but settled with their children in Manlius, NY for nearly 20 years before moving to Florida in 2014 upon retirement. She was a proud secretary within the Syracuse City School District.
Carol was extremely proud of her daughters, Gina and Alicia. She was blessed with two beautiful granddaughters, Ella and Olivia, children of Gina and Andrew Michalski, as well as a wonderful grandson, Samson and sweet twin granddaughters, Ava and Sofia, children of Alicia and Jason Gelmini.
Carol is also survived by her brother-in-law, Joseph, his wife Elaine, her sister-in-law, Philomena Gruver, as well as their children and grandchildren.
Carol enjoyed entertaining, shopping, playing Samba and spending time with family and friends. Carol had lifelong friends, Edith Lentini and Pam Fantaski, who were like sisters to her. She touched all who knew her with her kindness, generosity, passion and good nature.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Cornerstone Hospice nurses, as well as the Right At Home caregivers whose amazing care made her comfortable and prolonged her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, Lady Lake, FL, on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 10:00 am.
