Robert (Bob) Alston Rigby, 74, passed away at Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares, FL on July 4, 2019. Bob was born April 25, 1945 in Fall River, Massachusetts. He was a computer aided draftsman for many years with Raytheon Corp. and served the U.S. in the National Guard. Additionally, he was a member of the Episcopal Church. He will always be remembered for his love for camping. He and Susan extensively camped throughout the New England area and the Carolinas. He was a member of the Seaside Sam’s Camping club in Rhode Island, the Sandhills Good Sams, and, more recently, the Scottish Wheelers in Florida. He was also an avid bowler. Another great joy was his love and loyalty to the New England Patriots. This die-hard fandom resulted recently in an all-out Patriots party with uniforms and game re-runs. His greatest passion, however, was his family, giving love and nurturing to each one.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Susan; his daughter Deborah (Matthew) Galvin of Bunnlevel, NC; his son David (Gina) Rigby of Mt. Dora, FL; His grandchildren, Meghan (Nicholas) Baltrus, Abigail (Trey) Rose, David (Kelley) Rigby, Caitlin Galvin and Marissa Rigby. He was also blessed with one great-grandchild, currently on the way.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan J. Rigby.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be sent to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32278.
