Obituary

Dorothy C. Mirarchi (90) of Clermont, FL passed away on June 15, 2019. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Richard) Cupo of Clermont, FL; her son-in-law, Michael Slotwinski of Clermont, FL; her sister, Roseann Chapparone (Anthony) of San Diego, CA; her grandchildren – Lauren (Phillip) Rosenthal of Mt. Dora, Christina (David) Korsun of Mt. Dora, FL, Jennifer (Jason Magnes) Cupo of Orlando, FL, and Ricky (Vanessa) Cupo of Wellington, FL. She also was blessed with six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Frank Mirarchi; her daughter, Carol Slotwinski and her brother, Anthony Pezzella. Dorothy was born in Baltimore, MD, but the family soon moved to south Philadelphia, “Little Italy,” where she grew up. She was a beautiful woman, doing some modeling work and even taking 2nd place in the Miss Philadelphia pageant of her time. Her beauty also transferred to her stunning voice singing to the troops with the U.S.O. after World War II. The family had an interior decorating business which was passed on to her. In it, she had learned how to do carpentry, seamstress work and all the expertise needed to produce custom furnishings in a home. After the business, those skills remained her hobby into her later years as a homemaker and a wonderful hostess for family events. She also loved her Shih-Tzu dogs and her "grand pets" very much. She will be deeply missed and adored. Following her cremation, a Celebration of Life party with be organized by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations be given to the Humane Society of Lake County, supporting an organization Dorothy loved. Online condolences may be left at www.beyersfuneralhome.com Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Leesburg, FL.
