Shirley Nichols passed from our earthly world on Thursday, May 9th due to illness after an incredible life spanning 85 years. She was a wonderful and loving mother to six children and a wonderful wife to her husband during their 56-year marriage. I feel truly blessed to be one of her children and to have had her live nearly long enough to see me retire. She was also a sister to two brothers and two sisters. All of us will miss her dearly, including her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Shirley was an avid reader and loved to read all sorts of literature. She knew of authors that most of us have not heard of. She loved word games and could play a good game of scrabble. She also loved her garden.
Shirley was a lifelong Catholic who loved her church and served the Lord. She was not the least bit afraid to die. She knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and trusted that He died for her sins to be forgiven, and that debt was fully paid. Beyond all shadow of doubt, Shirley has gone to heaven to see Jesus and be with her husband James and all of her ancestors and friends that preceded her in passing.
Though we grieve her passing, we can rejoice and take heart that we will see her again one day when we are reunited in the Heavenly Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
