Louis H. Pelow (November 9, 1924-March 13,2019) Louie was born in Oswego New York, the only child of Mary Eliza White and Louis Amos Pelow .
A child of the depression he was a senior at Hinsdale (New York) High School when the boys were told they would receive their diplomas if they enlisted. He enlisted and eventually went to jump school in England and served with the 101st Airborne division and fought at Bastogne in December 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge. After the war he graduated from St. Bonaventure University and while there married Marian Gallets from Allegheny, New York. (She predeceased him in 2011). Together they had five children (Louis, died in infancy) the surviving children: Sharon (Leo) Keenan of Nellysford , Va ; Cary (Merry) Pelow of West Seneca NY; Beverly Kremer of Leesburg Fl, and David (Pam) Pelow of Bemus Point, NY.
Louie had a 20 year career as an ATF agent and then 10 years working for the state of New York as an investigator for Medicare and Medicaid fraud. After retirement they moved to Florida and then to The Villages. There he continued daily walks and played 9 hole golf. He along with his wife enjoyed their 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and especially loved their summers at Bemus Point, NY and Outer Banks family reunions.
His lifelong friends from West Seneca and those neighbors and dear friends from The Villages helped him enjoy his later years very much and to those friends we are especially grateful.
A celebration of life will take place on May 8th at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church at 8:30AM with internment at the Florida National Cemetery following at 10:30AM. A lunch to celebrate his life will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation or to St. Bonaventure University.

Louie was my early morning walking buddy for more years than I like to count. He was always ready to answer questions and offer opinions about current issues. Mornings that I really didn't want to head out at 4am (in advance of the golf-carts arrival at our route) to meet Lou and begin our walk & chat, my conscience would not let me not "show-up" …...I think it was also beneficial to encourage him to continue to "keep on keeping on" as long as he was able. I send condolences to all the Pelow family, Lou's neighbors, and friends. He will be missed by many. Pat Wright,

Dear Sharon,Cary,Bev,Dave, I was sorry to hear about Uncle Louie. I'm sure St. Peter was waiting for him at the pearly gates with a beer for him to welcome him. Your dad lived a long and good life. He will be missed by many. I can still remember the day he took us skeet shooting in the field at the farm. Seems like just yesterday. I bet he is filling in your mom and my parents and Aunt Jan and Uncle Jay with all the family news. He always had a distinct laugh and chuckle that put smiles on the faces of those in the room. He will continue to live on in the hearts of many. Love, Danny

Dad, where do I begin? I have spent a lot of time with you over the last 10 years. Golfing on Sundays, thanks for letting me win once in awhile. Bowling, showing me you still had it after not bowling for 60 years and still throwing strikes. Going to Hard Rock playing video poker, even though we never won. I still feel like I need to call you to check on you. I may not have been everything you wanted me to be but I know you loved me as I loved you.. I miss you!

Dearest Pelow Family, You are all in our prayers during this sad time. But in all the sadness, please know that grief isn’t the absence of love, it is the proof that there was much love! Love, Birdie & Frank

To the Pelow Family, Uncle Louie and Auntie Marian were the best God Parents to me! I will always remember you father’s laugh! He had the best stories and when he and my Dad got together was truly a fun time! Please know you are all in my thoughts. I will always hold a special place in my heart for him. I was blessed to have such good people to look up to. May he Rest In Peace. Lisa Kallelis
