Obituary for Pearl Fisher Lineberry

Pearl Fisher Lineberry
Pearl Fisher Lineberry
Jul 18, 1931 ~ Jan 4, 2019
Sarah Pearl Fisher Lineberry met Jesus on Jan 4, 2019. She was a resident of The Villages, FL for the past 20 years. She was born in Charlotte, NC and raised in Jonesville, NC where she met her future husband Leonard Lineberry. They were married and moved to Hampton, VA where they resided for over 48 years before retiring to The Villages, FL. She and Leonard were married for 66 years.
Pearl was an outstanding basketball player at Jonesville High School and Salutatorian of her graduating class. She attended Lees–McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. While she was the bookkeeper for her husband’s painting and decorating business, her favorite role was that of being a wife and mother to 4 children. Pearl was very active at both Langley Baptist and Hampton Baptist Churches as a women’s Sunday school teacher and long-time choir member. Being a spirited advocate for education, she played a significant role in the Hampton community as a voice in the PTA organization, not only while her children were in school, but after all 4 graduated from Hampton High School. She became the Local and State PTA President and was the National Regional PTA Vice President for the Eastern US, which included Europe.
Leonard preceded her in death in April 2017. Her youngest daughter, Denise Lineberry Walker preceded her in death in March 1983. Pearl’s survivors include: a son, Larry Lineberry (Elizabeth) of Sedona, AZ, her daughters, Kathy Lineberry Murphy (Clyde) of Jacksonville, FL and Ann Lineberry Cholewinski (Ronnie) of The Villages, FL. Pearl had 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, with one on the way.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Operation Homebound, North Lake Presbyterian Church, 975 Rolling Acres Rd, Lady Lake, FL 32159.
